Next game: October 5th @ Chicago

The Samuelis bought the Ducks from Disney! Now we have new management and much more money! They also lowered ticket prices by 11%.

Extra Tidbits

Our General Manager is now Brian Burke and our new coach is Randy Carlyle.. I think.. might have to check up on that one.. The Ducks have also named a new Assistant Coach, a man by the name of Dave Farrish.

The Ducks signed restricted free agents Mark Popovic, Travis Moen, and Chris Kunitz.

A new Collective Bargaining Agreement has been reached! The two sides "agreed" on a mil salary cap for each team. Player costs can not exceed 54% of league revenue. Each player with a contract when the CBA was announced will take a 50% paycut and then a 24% paycut. If the league gets more revenue, the players get paid more, so everyone is working to promote the sport.

The Ducks did fairly well at this year's entry draft, picking up Bobby Ryan as their Second Overall Pick. It came right down the the thread as it was down to a lottery between the Penguins and the Ducks. The Penguins got the first pick, a lad by the name of Sidney Crosby. And completing their trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Ducks picked up the 31st overall pick, D Brendan Mikkelson.

Rumors..Trades..Etc..

Um, can you say bombshell? Burke traded Rucchin away to the Rangers for a draft pick in 2007. Same with LeClerc, only to the Coyotes. I think we acquired a minor leaguer in one of those, but I have forgotten which deal it was.

Annnnd. We signed Teemu Selanne to a one year, million dollar deal. OMG!

The Ducks signed the brothers Niedermayer in a brilliant move by Burke, Rob for million over 4 years and Scott signed for .75 million over 4 years.

The Ducks signed Jason Marshall to a one-year deal for an undisclosed amount of money. Marshall played on the Ducks' back lines from 1994-2001 and is now back because he got better :D

The Ducks resigned puck moving defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh to a 2 year deal, allegedly earning half of what he was to earn last year, .5 million.

The Ducks acquired LW Travis Moen from Chicago in return for RW Michael Holmqvist.

The Ducks also picked up the one year option on goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov's contract (Awesome!). He is scheduled to be backup to J.S. Giguere this year.

The Mighty Ducks acquired LW Todd Fedoruk from the Philadelphia Flyers for their 2nd round pick in next year's draft.

The Cheese

I try to keep my site updated and accurate but I am only human; please email me if something is inaccurate or you have some new info about the Ducks of which I am not aware. I would really appreciate it!
